Transformed into an Eco-museum, Troncalhada's salt pan shows its visitors the methods of artisanal salt production, exploring the characteristic landscape, fauna and flora, as well as keeping alive the experiences and traditions linked to this secular activity.
The Palheiros of Costa Nova are famous and charming striped houses on the beach with the same name, originally in shades of ochre-red and black, used as old warehouses for fishing tools.
Until the beginning of the 19th century, Costa Nova was a large uninhabited beach but, after the establishment of the Port of Aveiro, fishermen from the Ílhavo fishing campaigns moved to Costa Nova and began building "palheiros" to store the nets and other materials associated with fishing.
A Geopark is a park with a geological heritage of exceptional significance, recognized as such by the European Network and Global Network of Geoparks of UNESCO. Its purpose is geoconservation, education for sustainable development and tourism.
This authentic open-air geological museum, with an area of 328 km2, is surrounded by the Freita, Montemuro and Arada ranges and crossed by several rivers, offering excellent conditions for various activities such as canyoning, canoeing, kayaking and climbing (25 tracks in 3 zones of Serra da Freita). And in the rapids of Rio Paiva we find some of the best places in Portugal for the practice of rafting and kayak-rafting.

The Nature Reserve is located north of the canal, right in front of the ocean and accompanying extensive beaches. The vegetation is very characteristic and, in the 19th century, acacias and pines were planted in an effort to fix the dunes. Here one can find, in freshwater ponds created for the effect, many species of ducks, herons and other seabirds.
In this landscape, undecided between the sea and the land comprised of beaches, fresh waters and brackish, inhabited by natural species of great value, take a stroll to take back in your memory.
Knowing in order to learn to value and preserve was the policy that guided this Project that, through the requalification of environmentally degraded areas, allowed the creation of a Network of Pedestrian and Cycling Paths in direct contact with Nature.
The Center of Environmental Interpretation, strategically located at the beginning of the Route of Salreu, is the gateway to the Ria de Aveiro, a point of reception for visitors and a centre for the promotion of numerous environmental awareness activities.

The Alliance Underground Museum is an exhibition space, which develops along the traditional Aliança Vinhos de Portugal cellars. Contemplating eight distinct collections, this museological equipment covers areas such as archeology, ethnography, mineralogy, paleontology, tiles, ceramics and tinning, covering an impressive time span of millions of years. Part of the great universe of the Berardo Collection, these collections result from the constant care of the collector José Berardo, in immunizing pieces and works of art, of multiple origins and types, with a sometimes historical meaning, sometimes sentimental.
The Bairrada Wine Museum is the largest Museological Institution dedicated to wine in Portugal, comprised by the strictly museological area where the interactive languages with the public stand out. Incorporating estate from the 19th century to the present day, it highlights all the equipment used by the pioneers of Sparkling wine in Portugal.
The Bairrada Wine Museum perfectly combines new technologies and the most modern audio-visual means, making this museological space a cultural reference. Because of its unique characteristics, it is host to various artistic and cultural events.
Inaugurated on 28th July 2012, with the aims of enhancing the cultural and environmental heritage of the Gândara Region. Located in an old primary school, it is divided into two exhibition areas whose themes are: Time and Man and Man, the Land and the Sea. In the first one, the visitor can take a trip through the History of the Land and Man, having as the main elements the conglomerate of Mira, the evolution of the Territory, as well as a set of archaeological findings that demonstrate the importance of these lands. In the second exhibition area we can see some of the most emblematic cultural ethnographic aspects such as the Arts of Fishing, the Caretos da Lagoa, the Architecture and traditional materials (Palheiros de Mira and Casa Gandaresa with the artisan manufacture of adobes) or the vast biodiversity of this territory.
The Ethnographic Museum and Tourist Office of Praia de Mira, inaugurated on October 5th 1997, is a building, built from scratch, entirely of wood and of ‘palafítica’ architecture (standing on wooden stakes). Commonly called Palheiro, this was the typically popular local construction that characterized the locality until the 60s, which was then called Palheiros de Mira. In addition to serving as a Tourist Office, this space includes permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions. Through a visit it is possible to travel in time and get to know the past, recognizing from the nuances of the architectonic heritage to the fishing Arts, addressing the way of life and the relationship of the population, all this through furniture, costumes, fishing instruments and agricultural tools.
The Egas Moniz House-Museum is a house-museum located in the so-called Casa do Marinheiro, in the parish of Avanca, municipality of Estarreja, district of Aveiro, Portugal. Antonio Egas Moniz was born in it.
The building dates back to the 18th century but was completely reconstructed by Egas Moniz in 1915 with a project by the architect Ernesto Korrodi.
As he left no descendants, Egas Moniz created the Regional Museum, later called “Casa Museu Egas Moniz”, which opened its doors on 14th July 1968.
It has been classified as a Public Interest Property since 1997.
